This is Incorrect. The 1990 Has a Door type meter. and the Temp sensor is also Integrated into the Unit.

The Intake Air Temp (IAT) sensor is inside the Air Flow Meter (AFM). The IAT can not be changed seperately, the whole AFM needs to be changed. (unfortunately) Very expensive for new OEM part. $1200 https://secure.sewellparts.com/shopping_cart You can get a used one on ebay for $100-$300. Hard to find at the junkyard b/c people (Supra guys) snag those up quick, they're know to go bad. I'd be very cautious about letting someone "practice" being a mechanic on your car. You say it'll be cheaper then a mechanic, not when he screws it up even more b/c he doesn't know anything about the LS400. And when he does mess it up more, he's not responsible for it so you'll be paying alot more to fix it. Cheaper,? Nope. If you meet Hilux22RE someday, have him look at your car and explain a few things to you. You should at least buy him a cup of coffee for his time. I don't know him personally but he's worked on his LS so I would trust him before somebody's girlfriend's freind that knows his brother's cousin's mother-in-law's freind.
You can check your AFM and your TPS with the link I gave you in your "modification process" thread. This one; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...on-issues.html I thought you mentioned in that thread that all your lights went away when you changed the IAC, but I haven't read that one in a while. (maybe I will) But, you should check parts before you just go and change anything, it's cheaper that way.
