even when I clear the code (po135) the light keeps blinking... I have searched but I am unable to find out how to turn it off.... I saw one good reference "put some black tape over it"

any ideas ????? this is on my 1996

Check all your vacuum hoses. I left one unconnected after changing my ect sensor, and it caused my TRAC OFF light to flash.
