Question about some ghetto headlight wiring
I have myself a 1991 UCF10 LS 400
The headlights on these suck. flat out. even with good bulbs..they sure do suck.
Mine both don't aim up and down at all and are pointed pretty low..only the high beam does any good..and it is NOWHERE near blinding anyone..not even the cat 50 feet in front of me.
My question is..single bulb headlight setup...how awful would it be to wire the bulb to operate both high and low filament at the same time? sure this will shorten the life of the bulb majorly and could melt but would probably burn out before it ever melted.
I could wire the low beam to drive both low and hi....any major problems with this? I need all the light I can get and I am not shelling out for new headlights anytime soon unless I find a good Projector retrofit.
I don't mind going through $9 bulbs every two months if I get more light.
I know I can fix the aiming and will down the road. but for now..just the question of wiring high and low beam on at the same time using the Low beam power cable...and how would be a better way to do this if that isn't a great idea? I have plenty of time..solder..electrical tape..and 14-16 GA wire....
Lemme know your ideas. No one on google seems to be dumb enough to do this except me.

I'd be worried about the prolonged heat that will come from the high and low beams being on all the time. I think you would run into melting the housing before the bulb blew then you are going to be buying new housings for sure. If you don't want to mess with the aiming issue and want to avoid melting your housings I'd suggest getting a HID kit off eBay for 50-80 bucks and running it in the high beam spot(so to keep the higher beam angle) this will give you waaay more light and will run cooler than even your low beams. Plus you'll have a HID kit already for when you decide to fix the aiming issue/get new housings.

Better question....
Why don't I just wire my high beams as my lows and use the fogs at the same time as highs?
that is a lot of light.
Any easy way to do this?
I have very very little room to splice the cables behind my lights...
