ultimately its his decision...if it were me i wouldnt worry about the guys job, by calling them and letting them know..that might prevent him from doing it again, maybe it was the service writers fault. they probably already know they screwed up because whoever was supposed to get the tires didnt have any on their car so they had to install another set. which is strange to me anyways. did they put the tires on ur car that were the correct size? was there another LS 400 there that needed tires..

Yes, the tires on mine are the right size. I just noticed my invoice has all my info except it says 93 Lexus GS300

If you are right sport them babies for all to see!

The advice you have gotten that they "can't make you take them off" is laughable. When push comes to shove they will come off, and it will likely happen at the police impound lot.

Sorry to rain on your parade. I hope it all works out for you.
I'm not hiding them, like I said before, I don't want high performance tires on my car, I want the Tripletred my buddy has b/c I've had them and like them, alot.

Actually, I called them about an hour ago. Not telling them who I am or when it happened, I told them the story. I spoke with the manager and his exact words were "We made the mistake, why are you calling about it?" So I told him "I'm an honest guy, figured I would let you know so it doesn't happen again and plus I don't want to get an unexpected visit from a detective or something." (already knowing that that wouldn't happen) Then him, "There's nothing we can do about it now, as soon as you drove on them they are yours. If we noticed before we gave you the keys, we would have taken them off. Even if you drive a mile on them we can't sell them anymore, they're not new." I said "Well I took off this morning and already have over 200 miles on them. Are you sure it's alright? That's a good chunk of change mistake." He said "Believe it or not, it happens alot, paperwork gets mixed up, usually when we're busy and there's 2 of the same make cars waiting." So I said "Thanks alot, I guess it's a nice present for my birthday tomorrow." More was said but the call ended with him saying "Happy birthday, have a nice day, and thank you."

So, I guess by law there's nothing they could have done. (which is what I figured anyway) Well I gotta get back on the road. Just figured I'd let ya know what happened.

midwest2; Oh yeah, and these tires will come off, but not at the police impound.
Thanks to everyone who is happy for me, this doesn't happen to me very often.

Yup, there are those moments we are smiled upon.

Those GY Tripletred's receive nicer reviews.

I knew that was gonna be the results that's why I wasn't gonna say anything but b/c of some rude comments I figured I would call anyway to stop some people from thinking bad thoughts of me. I'm not a thief......anymore. Nah, I'm an honest guy, it's not worth it to be dishonest.

The Tripletred are awesome tires. I had them on my Grand Prix for about 70K and never had a problem with them, rain, snow, and especially ice. The Eagle RS-A that they put on are actually loud, I put over 400 miles on them yesterday and can't wait to get them off. They don't really feel like performance tires, but that can also be b/c my suspension isn't in the best shape
.
Like I said before, "this is the only good thing that happened to me in 2 years," other then finally getting a job this week.

I followed this thread all the way through. Story ended like I had hoped. It was not luck or B-Day present. It is fate & karma. Someone mentioned karma earlier & was right in a way except this was good karma for something you have already done probably over the past 2 years. karma can be a blessing. Enjoy yout ride

+1.
Maybe it wasn't a mistake and you owe them a "thank you"!
Glad to hear about your job. All the best with it.
