Default Check Engine Light

If you have recently switched to 87 octane from 93. Will that cause your check engine light to come on ? Car is running fine.

your 1985 Yugo GV's doesn't have a check engine light because
in soviet russia, engine checks you.

please put the year of your LS into your title post...

Might be completely wrong but if your idle drops too low like the car is going to turn isn’t it normal for a bunch of the dashboard lights normally come on? I know your only saying the check engine light but just something to think about

Wow, a 10+ year thread bump.

Running 87 fuel in the LS isn't going to kill it, the manufacturer recommends premium. If it does trigger an error code there is something else going on as the ECU will adjust for the fuel.
