Front crank seal
Can anyone chime in And school me on how hard it is to replace the front crank seal. Also if anyone had this job done by a mechanic, what was the cost of parts and labor . I have a 92 ls400 with 235.xxx miles

edit: oops
use a seal puller to carefully remove it and tap it back in with an appropriately sized piece o whatever you have laying around.

What was your time of completion of the job? As far as tools go, did you need any specialized tools? Like a valve retainer remover...?

Did mine a couple months ago. No real special tools besides your preferred tool to remove the crank bolt (I used an electric impact) plus a gear puller to pull the timing belt gear. From what I hear, the gear puller isn't always needed, but I had some surface rust on the crank holding it on. You'll need a couple long machine screws (I forget the size, but 3 inch long ones were just enough with my gear puller) if you don't already have them. I was able to remove the seal with a small flathead screwdriver, but it took a good 15 minutes of prying away to get it done.
