Default DTC 13 on 90 LS

replaced my serpentine belt tensioner recently, the check engine/trac lights went on.

the car is misfiring occassionally, bogs down under moderate acceleration and the tach rpms jump around sometimes under steady throttle.

i checked the codes using the wire jumper method and came up with #13.

i checked the resistance of the passenger side cam sensor, measured @ 1140 ohms. didnt get to check the drivers side sensor yet.

if i accidently caused the timing belt to skip a tooth, wouldnt the timing of both cylinders be off and cause the car to always run poorly?

can i rule out a crank sensor gone bad (due to getting soaked in coolant when i removed the top radiator hose) since the car is able to start and run?

let me rephrase...is it possible that a jumped timing belt will cause an intermittent problem?

a jumped belt will cause problems, so yes.

swapped out the passenger side cam sensor, no go.

decided to check the timing...there are no markings on my belt. the markings on the cam sprockets are almost non-existent.

set the crank to tdc, both cams appeared to be off.

aligned the passenger cam with the marking behind it on some plastic engine cover (@ 1 o'clock), drivers cam looked like it almost aligned with the 11 o'clock marking on the plastic cover....crank was 15 degree before tdc.

removed the timing belt tensioner, slipped the belt off both cam sprockets, turned the crank to tdc.

slipped the belt back on both cams...runs like a charm!

it had been sitting for several months, belt appeared to be in good condition for a car with 227k miles on the clock.
