Cup kits are static first & airred up only to clear obstacles. So you park as hard as you ride.

does air ride require a lot of maintenance?

That's where i'm somewhat confused. PureDrifter says the K-Sport kit is full air with adjustable sleeves. Others say it's a cup kit... K-Sport doesn't clarify.

Not really, just check for leaks every month or so. Make sure nothing is rubbing and you should be fine. I think -most- kits are recommended to have their bags rebuilt every couple years or so and some bags only cost a couple bucks to repair, while some may cost a hundred or so. Overall it's not that big of a deal and YMMV depending on where you live and how you drive.

it's not a cup kit. cup kits use a standard coilover spring setup. not an air spring.

I don't understand why I never understood that before. Thanks for clearing that up PD. I think it's because I been staring at the K-Sport/AirForce kit for so long that I forgot what kits like Platinum VIP's Phantom kit looked like. Just searched the Phantom Cup Kit... Completely different.

I guess the reason for the adjustable sleeves is so you can get more variance in ride qualities?

Once you get everything working right(air leaks), air ride can be very reliable and handy.

I plan to go air, because it's so versatile. It's great for daily driving, clearing obstacles, riding low, and parking on the ground

i say it does more so over static of course. when i had it i had to empty my water traps every month or so, depending on climate conditions. check for leaks and i constantly made sure the pressures on the lines, bags, tank, are at their proper levels. but like previously said, once you get all the bugs out, it can be very reliable and daily-able.

nice car and gl with the future mods!

Thanks I've invested a lot of time in cosmetic maintenance.

i've rolled static for ~4-5 years now, only ever gotten stuck a couple times and then managed to get myself free.

That being said, these things really need an LSD for when you high-center.

Same here, I love the ride on my LS. I'd compare it to "sitting on a leather couch" while I'm driving.

Speaking from experience, I will say that my 2GS rode very smooth while on air ride. As long as I did'nt ride too low..
