Is this the master Key?
Hello I just recently got a 93LS and I was only given one key and wondering if that is a master one?
And if I get a duplicate do I need to get one with the transponder or I can just get any key cut and still be able to start my car?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Some people don't know this (because they don't make keys like this anymore). The key you have is also the remote. Change the battery inside and the remote should work by pushing that little button. The original car came with two. It's not cheap to get a second key (I am not sure how much).

Thank you all for the prompt responses.
My other question is if I were to make a duplicate of the key (just a cheap mechanical one), will I be able to start / drive the car with it?
Thanks again

My understanding on 97 and up the master is the key with the 3 button remote and the valet has no buttons. If you have a working master you can program additional keys. Many threads on how are here.
Someone please correct me if Im wrong.

Has it ever worked? Does it start car?Does little red light come on when button pushed? What exactly are you trying to accomplish, put old 3 button module in a new fob? If it worked before should still work in new key/fob case.Replace battery?
As I understand, unsure on 97 though, but 98,99,2000 the valet key on bottom has a groove at tip that goes to end of key, while the master, top pic,is flat on the end,no groove.Again, somebody correct me if Im wrong.

]So you bought a transponder key like in the valet pic,or a 3 button key with a transponder module in it?and using your 3 button transponder master you cant program new key? And also, does your 3 button master work the doors,or no,besides starting car?
Did you go through the big rigmarole with step on brakes, diddle door locks 5 times, etc, that programming thing?
Did you get a new transponder module, the thing on the right, and does it have a battery in it.Does the red light on it come on when you press a key?
