none of mine have ever leaked.. but.... on the front cam & crank seals, you should do them when you do your TB/WP service, BECAUSE they are low price and easy to get to from that point..... you would not want to have to pull the front of the engine down for an item less than 10$ in cost...

2) I just keep mine clean as I go along (since I have been retired for 16 years now)
