Default oil light

my oil light comes on 30mins after driving, i thought it was the oil level sending sensor and unplugged it but it still comes on. worse cause is oil pump is going out but surely there would be other signs of that any help would be appreciated. searched forums but no luck

You have of course actually checked the oil level on the dipstick, the oil is fresh along with the filter.
You could always check the oil pressure with a gauge tapped in.

back in the old days, when that happened, the pump would pump the oil to the top of the engine, but the drains were clogged up and was slow to return to the pan.... we would unclog them and all would be fine.....
gives you something to think about while you try to figure it out.... hope the new ones are not like that....

good luck, its terrible to be so old..

more likely the sender's dead, but yeah, check oil level and have a shop check pressure with a gauge.

Btw its a 92,oil level is fine wondering if it might be just old oil, didnt think those models had that feature gonna hook up a gauge this weekend.

Your words "comes on 30mins after driving" is a key to solve this problem. 30 minutes would be time to start to have a bad connection of electrical contacts. The highest possibility would be the sensor itself. Removing the connector, you'd better check the resistance. I once have had a similar problem with a German car and it was caused by the sensor.
