rebuilding a trans usually runs ~$1500-2200 at most shops. i can buy ~8-12 used trans for that price, and if you take care of them they generally last a fairly long time...

overhaul kit about $100... master kit about $300... if you can find a transmission re-builder probably be out of there for $1200 all in on a master. Most service repair centers outsource their transmission rebuild jobs out. so i would go directly to the source.

used transmission $300, plus the the R&R and fluids and sure your saving some, but not enough for me to put a unknown 15 year old transmission thats replacing my 16 year old transmission that went bad...

car will run good, and its an important part of the vehicle next to the transmission, so why skimp out? if you do it, do it right.
