1996 LS400 wheel spacer: advantages n dis-advantages
I'm planning to apply 4 wheel spacers with thickness 25-30mm on my 1996 LS400. I desire if someone has experiences to advice the advantages (benefits) n dis-advantages (harms). Thanks a lot in advanced.

The 5mm spacers I used for a while prevented me from having a good balance. I believe that problem was due to the lack of an interface between the wheel and the hub center. Any spacer you get would need to have a specific hub-centric design. My spacers were marketed as hub-centric compatable, but in the end only the spacer interfaced with the hub leaving the wheel to float around.

Ya, there are no real disadvantages to quality (H&R - NOT Ichiba) spacers. I've run them with zero issues. I know guys that run them on their track cars with zero issues.
Never heard of a wheel bearing issue being 'caused' by a spacer. The very very small added mass so colse to the centre should be pretty much neglibile.

Well, now you have. Maybe bearings on a Lexus are stronger, or maybe they aren't driven the same way, but with Subarus running low offset setups will accelerate wheel bearing wear. Miatas have that issue also.
Spacers on a track car are just silly. You are spending alot of money at the track, just buy a set of properly-fitting wheels. ROTAs are $600 brand new.
For the record, I have used H&R 10mm and 20mm spacers on a Passat with good results. VW uses lug bolts, so it was easier than having to replace the stock studs with longer ones.

just make sure you have enough thread for your lugs to grab, meaning don't obtain a huge spacer to a point that your lugs can't secure your wheels properly. i heard somewhere that 5 full turns on the lug is sufficient but that's debatable. now if you are considering adapters (i.e. ichiba version II), that's a different case.
i run 15mm in the rear of my track car, running ARP extended studs all around and i never had an issue. keep them tight, and hubcentric is ideal if the spacer company has that option.

I could follow Jin3198 apply 15mm front and 25mm rear on my 96, or 20mm for front and rear. Which brandname I should use ? Pls advise
