Default Need help diagnosing misfire 91 ucf10

My car has a rather unusual misfire and im not sure which repairs I should do to fix it. After I start the car it will have a between 1 to 4 misfires at idle. It will also misfire in park and reverse. After getting into drive it seems to hesitate and misfire in first gear while in idle but once I give it gas it runs smooth. It will also seem to bog or misfire when I punch it as the car is downshifting. I have never had a car do this before. I cant tell if this is a fuel, spark or timing issue and I dont have funds to replace random components of either. I have replaced the spark plugs and wires with ngk v power but have not done any other repairs. Any help would be much appreciated as it pains me every time my car knocks

Open the hood, look for a grey DLC connector short pins TE1 and E1. Go inside count the check engine light flashes and report bak

connect TE1 E1 and put the key in the lock and put it on "ON"
and then read the amount of times the engine symbol flashes on the dash

it should always give a standard code that tells you it is ok.
when this pattern is different it tells u what code

example: - - - - - - - - - - - = ok
- - - - = 13
- - - - - = 41

if there is no blinking what so ever u must check the ECU voltage and ground, check the fuses, the whole circuit.

succes

Actually everything looked ok. I performed the check and had no engine codes. O/D off flashed a million times or so which I read means its working fine. The car is bogging really heavily when I punch it, it will feel like its only running on a few cylinders but if I ease on the gas it works just fine. Do you guys think that is a fuel or spark issue?

After doing a lot of reading it seems that I have a multiple problems here. The bogging is probably my fuel filter which I will check tomorrow. The misfire is probably either the coil pack or the distributor cap/rotor. Unfortunately I cant afford the ignition repairs for a few weeks so I will change my fuel filter and see if that helps.

Code 13 is RPM signal. Check CKP sensor. Check for open/shorts. Last would be a defective sensor.

Code 41 is TPS signal. Check TPS sensor. To test TPS, go on youtube it will show you how to test it with a DVOM.

I think he was just giving an example. No codes were actually thrown.

I would still aim at the ignition system.
