Throttle Body Cleaning
I just finished cleaning the throttle body and thought I would share.
First remove the negative battery cable. Then remove the air intake, including the air cleaner assembly. I then removed the throttle linkage and the cruise control linkage. The cruise is connected with a clip that was easy to remove, you also have to loosen the nuts on the cruise linkage to remove it from the throttle body. I then loosened and removed the two bolts and nuts from the throttle body and then disconnected the vacuum and coolant lines. I found this to be the easiest way to gain access to the clamps and hoses because I could move the throttle body around. Once removed, I proceeded to clean. This was fairly easy. I then installed a new gasket, reconnected the hoses and installed the throttle body. I then reinstalled the linkage and the air intake. Reconnected the battery and started the car. The entire job took about 45 minutes. Test drove the car and found that it ran much better. My car is a 1995 and has 92,355 miles on the clock. You can see how dirty it was, even with the low miles. Everybody should do this!
