Default I'm back

Hello CLers,

I've been out of the game since I totalled my 95 UCF20. I'm back with a 92 UCF10 this time around simply because I believe it'll be simpler to do a manual swap and to be honest, having owned both gens, I'm really growing more fond of the UCF10 and I'm actually prefering it to the UCF20 that I used to have. I don't know what it is but I have a feeling it's because it was the model that started it all and the body lines of the UCF10 are different (wider front fenders and rounder body styling).

Here's what my new one looks like

I'm looking to buy some coilovers again, as I sold the Megan Street LPs (stupid move) that I used to have on my UCF20. I want something stiffer though and my budget is around 800$, any suggestions? Also, I have a tick which sounds like it's maybe a bent valve or something of that nature, my rear suspension arm bushings are shot so the rear susp makes epic clonking noises when the suspension exhibits motion and the body also needs some TLC. Seriously for the 1700$ I paid the car, I think it runs really strong and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Feedback on the coilovers (was thinking of D2s) and my mechanical issues would be greatly appreciated I'm glad to be back on board with the CL homies!

i would skip the D2s and get some custom ordered BCs or PBM if you really wanted stiff. I've been happy with my Megans the last few years i've had them

the rest of your stuff is in the faqs/searching, good luck and welcome back

Thanks Pure! Why not the D2s? Bad rep? I might go back to the LP's but I'm gonna need to work on the strut towers (cut holes through to stop upper control arm from knocking) because they weren't stiff enough on their lowest/stiffest setting to prevent the control arms from smacking. I was thinking of rocking them 12kg/mm and 8kg/mm and then buy custom Swift Springs @ 16kg/mm and 14kg/mm.

Welcome back. You might like Starke coilovers. Gives the car quite a sporty feel. I got them during a group buy from a vendor here for $750 shipped. Word of advice though, the car felt like total crap until I replaced all the bad ball joints and bushings. With the suspension refreshed and these coilovers, it feels great. Not too stiff. If you decide to do a five speed swap, just keep your mind set at everything about doing the swap will totaly suck, and it won't be too bad actually doing it. And I can vouch it's well worth the effort.

i'm not a fanof D2s and have heard a bad thing or two here, but not as bad a rep as ksports. there's a ot of random companies coming out with coilovers now, i tend to avoid them.
