Where do I find that switch? Or do I have a 1st Generation radar that doesn't have that switch?

You have the K40-2000 model if you have two red LED's

Thanks for the instructions link and information. By the way, I did hear the clicking noise yesterday. So far, I have heard chirping but not seen radar police nearby, but all of my driving has been in the city.

you should be able to turn the base (radar detector power ****) left for red, middle for off, and right for green. the top part of the **** also turns and that controls the volume. In the city there are alot of inaccuracies and the detector will pick up rogue signals and sound off. also if you hear clicking noises you probably have a k40-ss1000 model. They don't have that instruction manual on their website... I also have a copy of the manual that they sent me since they don't have it on their website. its a 1 page guide so I will try to scan it in the next 3 days and post it.

Be very careful to check the laws about the use of radar detectors in the areas That you drive.Near where I live. The use is illeagle.Virginia and D.C. The police have sensors that can detect When someone is using a detector. In Virginia they confiscate it,and give you a big fine. With a biult in I dont know what they would do.carpe diem

Yeah, it's only illegal in two states. D.C, and Virginia.

You can still get around it if you use a newer model detector that is equiped with VG-2. Minimizes the chance of radar detector detectors spotting your radar detector. Just have to make sure they can't spot it on your windshield etc. Still a risk though.
