Anyway it came with nakamichi system which i actually am pretty impressed with, it can handle loud volumes and turn heads but when i put some hawaiian music or drake on quiet it still go hiigh quality. The only problem is Im using the tape converter coz theres no waay to plug in my iphone for music... also the sub is kind of weak

My first major project will have to be upgrading the sound system... Id like to leave the nakamichi system in place and maybe hook up one doubl din video player...
From what I can gather, when it comes to the Nakamichi system it is better just to go ahead and rewire the whole thing. Apparently, with the Pioneer Premium system it is possible to manually cut the positive and negative for each speaker and convert to RCA for a preamp out. Sub control and a sub out is also needed to factory sub. BUT...

I have not read why this is not possible with the Nakamichi. Maybe it is just a really convoluted wiring setup and is just a nightmare to hook into an aftermarket head unit. Everybody recommends just rewiring the whole system, new amp(s), new door speakers, & new sub. That's another issue; getting an aftermarket sub in the factory enclosure.

because the way the nak system is wired is totally different from the way the pioneer system is wired and amped.

So what's the deal with how it is wired? I mean, the principles of audio have to apply. Are there any threads that have gone into the Nacamichi wiring? It's hard for me to believe that the Nacamichi is that much different. You have your source, your amps, and your speakers. Get signal and power to the amps and your good. What in the world did Lexus do to make this so difficult?
