Where to buy OEM struts for '99 LS400?
Is there a reputable place to buy OEM struts for my '99 LS400 that's less expensive than the Lexus/Toyato dealer "list" price?

LS400 oem shocks(struts) are made by kyb.
The kyb excel g shock is essentially oem and very reputable.
amazon . com has them for roughly $90 each.

In my experience they're actually a bit stiffer.

drive them for a bit, i did say "after broken in".
it's hard to compare 20 year old blown shocks to week old brand new shocks. the only way anyone's going to be convinced that the KYB are stiffer than OEM is if you had NEW oem that you replaced with NEW kyb, or 2 cars with one running each, new.

It also depends on the weather, and the way you drive how long shocks would last. The front shocks/struts are the main ones the vehicle uses for the front suspension which has the majority of the weight, and also it helps your brakes. You are using the 70% of the brake power in the front instead of the back, that is why changing your shocks is very important also getting an alignment helps out very much.

KYB's are very good, they are expensive but very good shocks. Just try to grab some of the shocks with LIFETIME warranty that always helps you out in the long run. Also do not forget to change out the strut mounts that also helps the lifetime of the shock itself.

I also believe I need to change the strut mounts on my 99 ls400. I have 101k and since I bought it 3 years ago (at 91k) it's been sounding like the shocks are a little loose in the front. The back might need replacing too.
Anyways, does anyone know if the KYB mounts on ebay are oem or not?
I'm assuming it's the strut mounts, since that seems to be the most common problem from what I gather.
I live in Brooklyn, NY if anyone knows of a good LS400 mechanic over here that would be great. The dealership is a rip off & I just don't feel like my mechanic now has the know how to diagnose minor problems like this.
Thanks in advance
