Yeah it is unfortunate- I don't even have a garage for it right now so it is parked outside! (out in the suburbs though)

I wash it once a week at the dealership but that is not going to be enough for the winter salt- you know that after maybe 2 days on the expressways your car gets covered. I am going to look into an unlimited wash service at Delta Sonic - their Naperville location is right on 59 which is my exit off the expressway and they are open til 9pm so I can dip in for a quick wash after work.

Having driven my similar 2000 LS400 through nine Kansas/Missour/Iowa winters, I wouldn't dream of driving it in winter without really good snow tires. With snow tires it's great. Without snow tires it's scary. Nokian, x-ice, Blizzaks ... whatever. All with the mountain/snowflake symbol on the sidewall are good.

I know exactly where that car wash is. I used to live in Romeoville about 10 years ago.

Another option to fight rust is oiling the under carriage of the car. I've been oiling my Excursion for the last few years with great results. I save my used oil and spray the under carriage once a year.
I know a few people that also swear by it.

Give your car a good coat of wax also.
