1995 Lexus LS400 Engine not getting fuel.
Hello All! I am the proud owner of a 1995 Lexus LS400. Unfortunately, my car was sitting for a long while. I took it in for some repairs and when I got it back it ran fine. 10 days later it suddenly wouldn't start. It seemed like the engine wasn't getting fuel as it wouldn't even turn over. My father disassembled the back seat and checked fuel pump. The fuel pump seems to be working...it puts out a steady stream of fuel. Used an ohm meter and checked all the relays...checked the fuel resistor all according to factory manual they seem to be fine. It runs when ether is sprayed in. I have the factory manuals and a Chilton manual but am still having trouble diagnosing the problem. I know diagnosis is half the problem; several times in the past I've had mechanics or with my father have just randomly replaced parts until we got to the right one but I am really broke right now and can't afford to do that,
My father's guess is that it could it be the fuel pressure regulator or what else could it be? Could it be the computer? I'm not sure how to check anything in the computer for error codes. Help would be really, really greatly appreciated.
Update: I mispoke here it is cranking, I mean turning over it just won't run unless you keep spraying ether into it.

as the previous poster said. not turning over would be an electric issue. not fuel.
and there is a chiltons for imports and it has lexus 1uz in it. seen it at the library just the other day.

I'm a big dummy I'm sorry...My dad should be having this convo but he's not good with computers. Its cranking but it only runs when a steady stream of ether is sprayed into it. As soon as you stop spraying ether into it it stops running which indicates that the ignition system is fine. Iys not getting fuel.

Here's some pics of that book you guys are interested in btw:
Like the guy said its for a lot of different imports...Its really nothing special. The old Haynes books were great...they had huge sections for troubleshooting which is the hardest part in my limited experience. Shame they didn't make one for this car.

ok try this. under the hood right hand side of engine is basicly the same thing that is under the dash to get codes. its a small rectangle box. open up that little black box. its right behind the right hand side distributor. get a paper clip. make it into a U shape. stick one end in B+ the other side into FP. this will by pass the fuel pump relay. forget the exact name but its on the left hand side between the intake and the fender well firewall. anyway this will force the fuel pump to run at full speed. try and start the car. if it runs the relay or what ever its called on the left hand side fire wall there is bad.

That was just replaced...when we took it to the mechanic they replaced all 4 tires and the fuel filter iirc.
Its the strangest thing...it ran fine when we got it back and then after sitting for 10 days it wouldn't run.
