MPH Off

You'll still get a good idea by reviews and survey results. Each of our cars will vary due to set-up but it shouldn't be 180 degrees different than the majority. Many 245/40-18 are available in a 45 series so the feel will be similar.

many years ago I ran 245/45-18 General Exclaim UHP (now ultimax) and had a decent time with them.
245/45-18 is the STOCK tire size for LS430s with the 18" wheel (optional 01-03, standard 04-06) so there's a fair few cars running them.

Any idea on these?..

Someone changed from my tires to these and said the ride is much smoother and quieter. I really don't like my Falkens, they are loud, not smooth, jerk (like a slight tie rod issue, maybe because they are so lo-pro?), not good in snow, etc. These Coopers look more like a traditional all season and snow handeling tread pattern, got good reviews from what I can find too.

had them briefly (came with a set of wheels) and hated them, but they were worn in (though not needing replacement).
the aspect ratio difference alone will make a big difference to the ride.

Those Continental DWS are nice tires. Several comments on them in the wheel-brake forum:

The Hankook Optimo H727's are great tires as well. One of the best I have ever had.
Don't know if they have the exact size you are looking for but here is a link.

It has been a few days since I got the Continental DWS' on and wow, they are great. I feel like I got my LS back! My Falken 225/40's were pounding the pavement so hard, it was a horrible ride. Now I feel like I am driving on a cloud again, the 245/45's really fill in the wheel well better too. So far I am a very happy camper (except the $1,000+ price after mounting!) Also, I GPS checked my speedometer and it is extremely close again, thanks for all the help!

I noticed on my 98 that if I use the trip computer my average MPH is about 3 less than the speedo reads at 70 MPH. So I expect in my case the speedo is off. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone's isn't off some.
