Have a 98 ls400 and its lowered on Megan's and tires are rubbing against the harness, it has tore up the wire loom. Car is not super low its just enough to clear when turn and when I go over bump etc it hit/rub the harness. My question is those who have 98+ ls400 and lower did you redirect the harness? If so was any modification done as far as wiring? Am looking to get this done ASAP before it cut into the wiring itself. All inputs/help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance

i drilled a hole in the pinch welded seam on that rail and zip tied high as possible.

So I'll just have to pop it out of the clip and it should have enough slack to where I can zip tie it up?

i tried everything in the book to stretch or pull cover my harness, but still rubbed through it. at the end of the day I unplugged it from the main fuse box, pulled it out, and rerouted it through the engine bay using a pre-existing hole near the firewall.

Had to extend all of I think 4 wires? two for the washer pump, two for the turn signal. no drilling required. Did have to remove one of my hood shocks though.

Hmm how low is your pd?? Just wanted to see if ill have to go that route to clear it I mean mine not super low, it's about 3-5 inches off ground still

i have a '98. it's real simple.. break the plastic clips holding the loom of the wiring harness. iirc, theres a hole you can use towards the driver door where you can ziptie. i also used a bunch of duck tape to make sure it stays snug and secure.

i've tried the drilling route. it's pretty hard to drill from the bottom up. at that rate, it'd be better to just take off the whole fender and to drill from the top down.

did this, still rubbed through it lol. (compression during a 270* freeway onramp)

One day i'll route it the way I want, but it involves pulling the fender off and routing the harness between the chassis and fender.

Alright so I did the drilling idea and it still rub/hit when go over bump even small one. But when I check again i did not see any damage to the wire loom so I'm guessing its not hitting the harness anymore. It's only the driver side hitting, um maybe it's the uca hitting? Although I did cut hole so it won't hit but not sure if its big enough to clear it. I mean from looking at it it seem to clear but not sure when actually go over bump

I havent tucked my passenger harness or cut out the lining like i had to on the drivers side. I have 2.5" holes. my drivers side hole is off by 4mm and make noises on big bumps. At that point my tire touches the pinch weld that i need to cut out. Would suck to pop a tire from bottoming out.
my tire overall diameter is about 25" i know 26" diameter would still rub the harness and pinch weld just sitting still.

What lining are you talking about? I think that's where mine rubbing/hitting against but don't want to just start cutting away

I just drilled and routed both of my harnesses on top of the frame rail and haven't had any major issues for awhile. It still rubs a little when I'm at full lock though. I want to pull the fenders off and redo the harnesses though for peace of mind.

As for the UCAs, mine pretty much rest on the body no matter what. They only make noise when the suspension decompresses over a bump and then hit when the body comes back in contact, lol.

Update: so today I tucked the passenger harness and inspect where it was hitting/rubbing. It appear to be the lining/rail near the uca. Cut a bit where u see it actually been rubbing so hopefully that is it.
