you can unplug the motors.
Leave the thick black antenna wire plugged in for better reception.
With this setup your reception will be about 75% of stock.
More than enough to get the job done. and you dont have to deal with that pesky power antenna

Where is the plug for the antenna wire? I just checked the box in my trunk and there's 2 cannon plugs, but noticed the antenna wire does not go into those and right into the car.
Only reason why I ask is that, I replaced my antenna but now it is stuck in the down position. Never bothered me, since I use satellite radio via Pandora on my phone hooked up to bluetooth.
However... Sometimes I'd like to listen to the FM radio, but with the antenna down, I get zero reception. On the flipside, Spencer is saying I should still get decent reception?
Last bu not least, I heard people were using another cable for better reception, something about the cable on the right side of the trunk? Here's the wire on the right side (first pic) then some other wire (second) I have no idea what it goes to, thinking it might be aftermarket?

With my antenna down but still plugged in, yes, I get good reception. I still get every station and only 1 gets a little fuzzy at times.
The first picture is the car phone antenna wire. That is the wire people connect to the radio antenna wire for better reception.
Second pic, I dont have a clue. Aftermarket probably.
