Question change ignition lock cylinder

I have a 1990 ls400. I got to work and turned my car off. I forgot to close the sunroof. Proceeded to reinsert key and turn it to close the window. The key won't turn at all. I can not get the steering wheel to lock. The car is completely in park. I am "ok" enough to do mechanical "grease monkey" work, but am not so sure of skills on the ignition. (I changed out my own water pump). I can not find any clue how to remove the old lock system unless the key is turned to acc position. I can not even turn my key at all. Any one have any ideas what to do next?

Try forcing the steering wheel left or right whilst trying to turn the key in the ignition barrel, sometimes the steering lock engages and you cannot turn the key but forcing the wheel one way or the other releases the pressure on the lock and the key should then turn.
