LS400 brake upgrade questions
Hi! First time poster! Nice looking site, lots of great info... except my search didn't find what I was hoping to find.
A google search led me to the Lexus info page, which led me here.
A friend has an LS400. 1990. GREAT car. Lovely condition. hard to believe it is 20 years old.
This car has the original 1990 front brakes and as such, they are rather weak.
Today, I was at my local u-pick-a-part and saw a 1995 SC300 sitting there... with front calipers still in place.
First off, can the 1995 brakes be retrofit to the 1990 LS? Secondly which parts should I be snagging? Calipers, for sure, brackets, I suspect... rotors are junk, who cares... but I can get both calipers for $50.00!!!
A rebuild kit and pads, and he has a huge brake upgrade for chump change.
Any thoughts?
Thanks a million!

Logic dictates that going from single piston 11" rotor to a multi-piston 12.x" rotor has to equate to some improvement.
However, we found that the original owner of the car updated the brakes. It has 1991 LS400 2 pot brakes on it. Surprise, surprise!
FYI - the SC in question is currently at the UpickUrPart (or whatever it's called) on the corner of Artesia and Vermont, just past 182nd, on Vermont, in Gardena CA... They close at 5pm. Go into the yard, pay your $2 fee, enter past the tires, and walk up the main lane... the SC300 is about 10 rows up on the right. It's a sad shade of light purple... yuck. The engine was still there, most of the suspension was, some one raided the front shocks.
