Thank you. Nope, thanks to this thread I knew what to expect. It popped off with a screwdriver pretty easily. Only minor surface rust. Getting it back on was a bit harder but it eventually went on. Carpet it out also. Did you ever clean and replace your carpet?

I put some silicone grease over the ***** to get the pedal back on. I actually vacuumed and scrubbed the carpet with woolite. I had the carpet out for a while while I was replacing the sunroof.

Yea I did something similar with WD-40. I was considering saving the carpet. But after 23 years it doesn't seem worth it, even the seats kinda smell bad I don't think they can be saved. 23 years worth of *** in the seats is impossible to get out. If I wasn't so cheap I'd buy some light bucket seats.
