Anyone tried dropping the steering rack to do the engine mounts?

Can't say people I knew had the same results, but they probably didn't put butt loads of lubricant on them as well..... I personally stay away from Polyurethane parts in general as squeaking crap that needs attention (especially leaf spring bushings) drives me nuts

it depends on the type of load they go through. I would definitely NOT recco poly bushings for something like the control arms or strut rods, but for the steering rack mounts and sway bar bushings they're fine, as they're acting as much of a bearing surface as they are a supporting structure.

My rack and pinion was leaking so I had it replaced. The guys I took the car to did the mounts with the rack out. It only took 15 minutes to remove from that point.
I opted for new OEM bushings...
I did see them on ebay via ricochet but I can imagine paying $39.00 for them 2x the OEM price.

I also opted for OEM from Park Place Lexus. It was $40 for the set. 2x the OEM price?
I think the poly set on E-Bay is for the pair, so the price is about the same for poly or OEM,
unless you found the OEM bushings for $10 each?
