Default Stripped Coolant Inlet Bolt

I need some advice on how to remove my stripped coolant inlet bolt. It is a hex bolt.
I have a "bolt out" kit for regular bolts where the bolt out goes on the outside of the bolt,
I have not seen this for a hex bolt. What's the best way to remove this without ruining the threads?
Thanks

How hard is it to get at and is there any of the outside bolt threads showing? Also what size do you think it is?

are you saying it's an allen head bolt? what i would do is grind a slot in it using a dremel and use a flat-head screwdriver to try and get it out. you can also try to hammer a bigger allen wrench into it.

spray some penetrating lubricant (i.e. PB blaster) to loosen the threads. also it can help if the motor is slightly warm.

You might have to carefully drill and then easy out the the bolt. Start by spraying it liberally with Bp Blaster. If you have or can make room to drill and easy out, make sure to use high quality drill bits and easy outs, get as square on it as you can, use drill oil and most of all take your time. If the drill bit breaks off in the hole you will probably be "screwed". Excuse the pun ;-) If it feels like your about to break the easy out, and the bolt is not budging, try heating it up some with a butane or propane torch. Keep spraying the BP Blaster. If it's almost impossible to gain enough drilling space, there are 90 degree drills and drill adapters at Sears and home depot. Whenever using a torch remember to have plastic and other sensitive materials protected and have a fire extinguisher nearby. Of coarse eye and hands protection also. Hope this helps. Paul

Great, thanks, all good advice. I picked up a screw extractor set, but think I will try the dremel method first. I will be sure to soak it with PB Blaster for awhile first to loosen the thread.
