Default 2nd gen LS400 or 2nd gen GS300 project build?

Going to be starting a project with either a 2nd gen LS400 or 2nd gen GS300. Still on the fence as to which chassis I want to start with. Don't care about the engine or trans. Planning an LS1, T-56 manual trans swap.

I know plenty of people have done the swaps into the GS. I like the fact the LS would be a bit out of the norm with this swap. There are also a lot less LS cars on the road to begin with. Which would make it that much more unique.

Rear seat room is important. I have two small kids and would like something with plenty of room for my wife to be able to sit between the two kids on a road trip comfortably.

Both cars are roughly the same weight with the LS slightly larger dimensions. Although interior & cargo space are about the same. If anyone has driven both what are your thoughts on the two?

Down the road I would definitely want a LSD diff. I know the GS this is a relatively easy thing to come by. I have searched and found nothing on a LSD option for the LS. A few placed on here I have heard people mention a possible TRD application but nothing concrete.

I like the idea of a big body car like the LS. As I said before stock they are both about the same weight. I'm thinking that loosing weight off the LS might be easier than the GS. The GS looks to have much more aftermarket support ie suspension, brakes, etc. Are there any poly bushing options for the LS?

What are people's opinions as to my thoughts.

with the amount and type of work you plan to put in, it really doesn't matter. The GS is a fair bit smaller in the rear but test drive both and pick one.
