Q45 Headers...$$$

Q45 Headers...$$$
I have been designing exhaust headers for our beloved 1UZ-FE engine and my buddy just bought his 3rd Infiniti Q45, this one a 2002 model. Very sweet BTW.
Anyway I have been trying to locate performance parts for him and found these headers (for the earlier 90-96 cars) at Impul in Japan for a cool 650,000 yen... or $5500
Very small picture but here is a link. Shows longtube headers, collectors, H-pipe with resonators all in stainless. Nice looking but WAY expensive considering MAYBE 30hp.

Tom,
Check out this thread for pictures and discussion on the 2 stock styles of headers, 90-97 and 98+
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=70132
I have several designs that I am considering and have a set of the early manifolds that I am using as a starting point. I am trying to acquire a set of the later manifolds also. The 1st goal is to creat a stock position replacement header that is as optimal as the location allows. The 2nd goal is to create a long tube design that would require re-positioning the catalysts under the car (or not running any - off road )

jbrady,
Thanks for the pics. Screw cats, I like to be a gross polluter anyway I have a device of my own that can make the downstream O2 sensor think that the cat exists and is working properly. So, I think you should go ahead and design the long, equal-length runners, tuned headers instead
Let me know if you need the calculations to determine runner length/size. I gotta dig it up from my Internal Combustion Engine textbook, back from my college era
