I've owned Lexus automobiles for almost 23 years. The engines and transmissions should be in The Smithsonian Institution.

I have owned 12 LS400's, now I am up to two 99's, I buy them 2 at a time.... and the 99's are the best yet..
NOW, what do I love about them? the soft ride, the quiet ride, all the little things it does for me, positions my seat, places the steering wheel where I want it, adjusts the temperature to my liking, wonderful mileage. what is not to like?? even the light bulbs last longer than any auto I have ever owned....

1. The rock solid build quality and reliability. I live in the sticks and getting a car to the shop for a repair is a major logistical undertaking, so this is more important to me than just cost of ownership. With 245K miles on it, I've had tor replace some accessories like the alternator, etc but the powertrain and suspension on this car are still solid.

2. The perfect balance between comfort and performance. I spend 1.5-2 hours a day driving and this car makes it effortless and enjoyable without being numbing. On road trips it easily eats up the miles, never tired or sore when I'm done driving it a long ways (and see #1, I never hesitate to take it on any road trip).

other than the solid reliability, i love the lines of the car. call me old school but i dig a bit of boxiness to my cars. the amount of engineering that were done in these cars were years beyond its time!

The excellent build qualities, which is rather vague. As a complete car all those little details they design make for a pleasurable car. One major factor for us is that the seats are comfortable and the car can be set-up to suit our driving position. Ours has a long way to go still so I am hoping to see how far this will take us in miles.

What I like about my 1998 LS400 is that it does not age. Elegant looking and a beast on the highway.
Parts fitments are great and easy to work on.

I love the build quality of my LS400, compared to cars my friends have the drive is just so much smoother with the added plus of the phenomenal stock radio (not even the Nakamichi one) just makes for an awesome ride. Its spacious and has the power I love in a car, not great on acceleration but once it's going its ridiculous.
My brother compared it to his Benz and he says its basically a slightly toned down Mercedez.

Build quality, diagnostic displays, legroom (some people might overlook it, but being 6'2 can prove to be cumbersome in a smaller car), solid OEM audio system (my father thought it was the best out of all the cars he has ever owned and being that 70% of those cars were from Lexus, that says something). Only thing I hate about this car in particular (1999) is the ridiculous amount of force needed to pull out the turn signal... I mean, it's not like I wish it was a Ford where I could remove a bolt and the entire front bumper falls off, but they could have made it a little more DIY friendly, but I digress.

I would have to say it's the cars serviceability. Everything I have done on this car has been a breeze compared to the same procedure on other vehicles I've worked on.

This car focuses on luxury so with that being said Lexus nailed it when it came to comfort and style!! My brothers 1991 feels just as nice as my 04 Ls430 and performs just as well. Lexus makes subtle changes to improve the vehicle instead of trying to change their body styles every other year which makes you feel more comfortable with purchasing unlike Benz and BMW, to me they just sale based on exterior but keep the interior the same boring, bland, leather is way to hard almost vinyl like!! Don't get me wrong I like Benz and BMW I would personally never buy one! Lexus is the most reliable car maker in the world and myself owning 4 400s and one 430 I will testify to anybody how my car will outlast most cars being made today! The ease of working on the engine and electronic issues are seamless!! 10 star car all the way!!!!!

Its just simply a very beautiful car. As others have said its timeless. In fact, I've been getting a lot of compliments from people on my car. I wasn't getting that in my other car(s). lol

But besides that, I love how solid it feels and how smooth it rides. :-D

I like that the seats recline so far back to flat like a bed, that I can nap in my car as if it were an RV!

Solid. Classy. Powerful. Quiet. Smooth. Reliable. Roomy.

I've a 1990 LS, and it's timeless - non-car folk think it's only a few years old, even though it's quite old and just off 200,000 miles. Just a wonderful car that puts a smile on my face whenever I think about it.
