Difference between 1ls and 2ls transmission mount
So I ordered the 95-00 transmission mount and saved some $ (90-94 was $20+ more). They looked the same in the pic.
It bolted up fine but I did have to use a hydraulic jack to "squish" the mount just enough so that the bolts for the cross member would reach the chassis (not sure of long term effects if bolt may creep or if it'll be perfect.)
Old mount came out in two pieces (as always). Ride is slightly smoother. Pretty sure engine mounts would cure the rest.
I think the difference between the 1LS and 2LS mounts is probably the thickness of the actual rubber. I noticed that the old one when put next to new one was noticeably less thick. Don't know if that's age or what. Sorry I never thought of taking a photo of the two of them for comparison at the time.
Just thought I'd put this out there in case anyone ever thought of ordering the second generation transmission mount to install on their first generation LS. So far it works fine.

First thing I thought of when I did it actually but I figure it's a scientific endeavor for the betterment of the LS400 community so I would try it out. lol
I'm going to also experiment with some new struts this weekend as well. I've gotten a lot of flack for even THINKING to use the STAGG SHS struts but I hear excellent reviews and only came across one negative one that that was PRE-install. No word after install

BTW, me "squishing" it with the jack was only because I needed maybe 1/4 inch more clearance and I was awkward position. I'm pretty sure if the car was higher and I was laying on my back, I could have gotten the clearance pushing by hand.
Anyway, if it breaks, I buy a new one of the proper year and install. Experiment results noted.

Not really any Lex dealer close but I'll see what I can muster on my day off. You guys should make the calls to the service department to see if they have them in stock for me since I'll be going there on my own time, dime and your curiosity.
