LS400 seat swap?
Probably get some hate for this but I'm thinking of swapping my stock seats for some from a Nissan I have that's headed for scrap. My seats are cracked badly, my drivers tilt is messed up and my heaters take about 15 minutes to warm up, just wondering if anyone has swapped stock for other seats or if its gonna be more work than its worth. I quickly looked an my tracks and they seem to be pretty tight to the trans tunnel-possibly mounted to it sideways?

the seats in my 92 are pretty boned. I would like to know what options i have to replace them as well. was thinking of a pair of aftermarket seats but want them to look classy. sporty doesnt flow with the LS400 at all

There are a few companies that make new covers for your seats. Not cheap but the ability to add a little extra style in the way of custom piping/stitching and two-tone leather is a quick way to change the dynamic of your car... Or find a nice set of sets at a wrecker/parts car.

I am interested to hear what suggestions others may have for seat replacement candidates.
My seats are in very good condition but I find them uncomforable for driving more than an hour.
My previous vehicle was a Nissan truck and I never had this problem!

depends on what kind of nissan it is. if the seats look good in the car and they bolt right up than yeah go for it! lucky me when i had my 90 it had horrible seats and i was able to find another one at a junkyard that had 50k original miles with perfect seats, that had been in a fatal crash but the seats were still good. they had some blood spatter on them so i guess thats why nobody wanted to touch them. well blood wipes off and i got away with a perfect interior for $200! you might have the same luck if you hunt around enough.

There is more or less nothing that fits unless you feel like getting creative. If you have the tools and the time you can make a seat fit, but you will likely never be able to have elerctronics working. Different wiring, voltages and circuits. If I could get all manual, non electronic ls460 seats id have done that already

Sorry to resurrect this but if anyone is wondering I was able to put 95 front seats in my 93 LS. (3) out of the (4) bolt holes line up fine. The fourth hole at the rear i just ended up using a large self tapping bolt and rammed it in there. I cut up the covers that covered the bolts and clipped them in place. I had the wiring pigtail from the 95 car - Just cut and spliced all the wires according to colour using solder sleeves. The only thing that does not work atm is the heat, all controls and seat memory work perfect.
Side to side of the 93 vs 95 seat installed.

I think I have collapsed springs in mine. Gotta pull em out and have a look sometime soon. Strangely its the passenger seat that's the worst.
I figure one of the previous owners wives was a big girl, or something like that.
Is that a manual you have there? Damn, my understanding is they're pretty rare. Wish I had one. This is my first Auto Automatic. All other cars I've had have been manual (for me it was a deal breaker when looking for a car to buy). The only 2 Auto's I'v owned I've installed manual valve bodies (made them effectively into a manual select auto) and installed a ratchet shifter.
