LS400 92 When giving gas hear valves clanging
Anyone knows if I can add an additive or do something to stop the valves on my 1992 from clanging. Its not that bad yet but trying to see if I can prevent it from getting worse. Trying to do a cheap thing? Only happens when I accelerate quickly.

first, double check the oil level in the car
an LS400 with noisy valves is not that common, and if it is truly the valves, then you need to adjust them
there are several threads on this
however, keep in mind that a small exhaust leak (such as a cracked lower EGR pipe) is far more common and can sound exactly like noisy valves!
also pinging (also called knock, detonation, spark knock) can sound like this as well, are you sure you are using 91 or higher octane (premium) fuel?
