make sure that the only solvent you use to clean the MAF is marked "MAF sensor cleaner" and for everyone else reading this, do not clean a pre-1995 MAF with any solvent! - not even MAF cleaner or "MAF-safe" cleaners

unless the car has been run without an air filter, which would be very strange on a car with 31,000 miles, then what makes you think the MAF is not working, that is not something that has issues on a 96 model

Turns out the efi fuse was out (car had a 2 channel amp piggibacked to the computer and was screwing everithing electrically) replaced it car is running perfect! Will pick it up tommorow to install stereo and a viper alarm! Will update as it progresses.
