tranns fluid in the power steering??
#16
I made the mistake of putting regular PS fluid in my system. It started the leak afterwards. I then used an additive called No Leak by Sta-Bil, let it run in the system for about a month, then drained...not flushed, and filled with the proper Dex-Mec III and have been leak free for over 2 years. May be worth a shot....

seems just a little louder now than before the flush, also it groans slightly while turning the wheel which is a new symptom. It functions quite well though.
Maybe some air trapped in the pump somewhere, Any thoughts other than a new PS pump? Even though it works it will bother me enough to warrant replacement if it doesnt quiet down.
Thanks again.

There is still no obvious leak and the alternator was dry when I got in there. I'll give it a while while I bask in the glow of knowledge that it is NOT the transmission as I originally thought. I'll check the fluid with each fuel-up for a while and see how it pans out and follow up when it quiets down.
Thanks for all the information, what a great forum!
