UCF21 - Could a LHD Power switch work on a RHD ?
Members,
From the subject at caption, could a 1996 LS400 (LHD) power window switch work on a 1996 Celsior (RHD) ? Despite the obvious where the driver's window will be "Auto"...meaning, if I were to use the LHD on my RHD, the passenger window will now be auto...The first pic is taken online from a 1996 LS400
This link is for the pic of the jack for the 1996 LS400 ;

the second and third pics are from a 1996 Celsior. One can identify that the pins are the same...
I just need clarification that the LS400 will work on my Celsior before I order, despite the obvious mentioned above.

Things are not that simple. You are only trying to compare switches but you also need to check the connections between the multiplex network door computers. I have a JDM wiring diagram but I don't have a USM one and I have no idea to compare.

on my Celsior's driver control switch, the following is what i experience;
Passenger (Left side) window option doesnt work
Both Rear Passenger window options doesnt workAll door
All door lock option works fine
Driver (Right Side) window option works
Therefore, I was considering purchasing another driver control switch.. However, the price of these for my Celsior (RHD) are wayy to expensive as compared to those i found for the LS400 (LHD)..hence the reason for my question of whether or not i can use the LHD...

Modern cars that have electronics circuits a lot are not simple as old mechanics or average users can think of. Most of switches are not connected to loads directly. In between them, there exist circuits or computers that are very sensitive against the abnormal energy coming in or driving out. Replacing only the switch often kills those connected. To prevent additional damages, we should know what are behind the switch viewing wiring diagrams or circuit schematics. Without these, you'd better not to act.
For an example, no indication of a gauge is often caused by the micro computer circuit not by the sensor. I have been seeing shop owners were worrying about mechanics to make the situation worse and compensate those.
