No offense dude I know you knew.

I sold it because at first we put the fuse there so there was no way I could mount it.
Now that we redone the whole car and rewired it all I have that space again.
Damn.

NO GOOD!

I'm having a very bad no good teriible horrible..you know the rest..

The supra STB does not fit the 1990 LS AT ALL..

First off, the mount plate on the STB are angled very differently (but it lines up with first generation SC400) and the holes do not match up by 1/4".

Next, even if they did line up the tower hits either the hood or the engine vacuum hoses.

SOLUTION? - TM engineering is going to custom modify the STB to fit my car. It's gunna cost $$$$ maybe I'm dumb (yeah) but I'd like to see something out of this, and besides I'll have something to sell someday.

This is what I'm afraid of.

I'm very close in buying a TRD Supra STB to fit my '95, but I'm a little wary. The washers are easy (although I'm going have custom-fabricated aluminum rings instead, in order to spread the load more evenly). Maybe I should just spend twice and get Tom's Racing STB.

Lvangundy, all I can say is to try to jack up the car under the front jacking point at the crossmember. This will flex the chassis a little. If this doesn't work, try using 2 jackstands placed at the rails, front position. Hopefully this will flex the chassis enough. Also, be careful about jacking the car up, especially if you have air suspension. Do this at your own risk.

PS: and don't put that STB on painted surface, it made my stomach curled

My car is full of swirl marks (that I have never been able to get rid of) and there's a big chunk of paint chipped off on the bumper because I hit a pole in the parking garage at work..So I'm not too concerned about the paint

Guesses to this issue is that either

1. The 1990 strut mount points on the chassis were molded differently in the 1993 year. (my guess)

2. SQ-LS is lying that he had a STB (just kidding =) )

3. There is a different STB for the turbo and N/A supras.

TM Engineering will cut the existing STB on the mount plates and re-weld the mount at a new angle to match my 1990 LS. We are looking at a 2 week time to build and test to fit..
