Some douchebag just threw a huge rock through my rear windshield as well at a restaurant a couple weekends back. The rock flew through the car, spidered the front from the inside, and put a hairline crack in the passenger corner dash. Luckily no other damage and this rock was massive.
Up here in Manitoba insurance doesn't cover vehicle damage in MY under 1995, yet they still charge you for full insurance and don't give liability as an option (extremely crooked government).
So I called the dealer, they quoted $2600 for both glasses installed, obviously I'm not moron so I'm not bending over for that deal. Nowhere in Canada stocks the UCF10 windscreens at all. But I did find someone with a Celsior that's going to help me out and I'm going to take his glass, I just hope my unexperienced-in-imports body guy will be able to transfer the glass seamlessly and my rear defrost will work as well.
I feel your pain.
EDIT: This hairline crack in the dash, is there some sort of vinyl compound I can rub in so it doesn't get any worse? I have pictures, it is very small.
