Swaying Side to Side?
#16
Check your tire pressure! In January I bought a 1997 LS400 with air suspension and the car wandered all over the road and felt very "busy."
When I filled the tires to spec instead of what I thought was correct the problem completely disappeared.
The 1997 is supposed to be 29# front and rear under normal load. Bump it to the 32# rated full load and the car handles noticably worse. Put it up to 34# like I was doing at first and you start thinking something is wrong with the suspension.
I record my mileage at every tank and there was no measurable change, I still get 22-24mpg.
SUMMARY: Run the recommended "normal tire pressure and your Lexus will track a lot better.
