How to Wire up a 1UZ engine (VVTI and non-VVTI)
#31
Hi ED!
You can use any ECU from 1998-2000 Lexus LS400 or GS400
JDM ECUs 89661-50520, -50521 and -50522 will fit as well
All these ECU have immo which I can fix
Also, all of them have cruise control, power/snow ECT modes and that's pretty much all
Traction control is achieved with another ECU and bunch of sensors
You can find detailed info on the engine by buying 2-day subscription to Toyota Techinfo and downloading everything they have for say '99 Lexus LS400

Modifying my original post because I've gotten my first question figured out. Now I'm curious if anyone has some good info on getting the auto to shift in drive. I can drive it around with the solenoids unplugged and shift it manually just fine but it won't kick into over drive. With them plugged in it's stuck in second but I can manually shift it down into first. I'm hoping someone has some info on this so I can get the wiring finished up and not have to always manually shift this thing and can actually get it to engage into over drive to save on some MPG. Any info will help a lot and I will greatly appreciate it.

Hi Guys.
I new to this forum so I need to hang out and do a lot of reading....
I am hoping to fit a 1UZ into my Toyota Surf and I already have my first question.....
I'm sure I've read that the transfer case I have on the truck now will fit the Lexus auto...
Does anyone have any info on that please?
Thanks in advance,
David.

Still here.
So glad people found this information useful. It's not perfect, but it's endured and been out there for a very long time, and that's awesome.

Reviving this thread, hopefully i get a response. I was wondering if the UZS160 GS400 vvti ecu pinout was the same as the 98-00 vvti LS400 ecu? I'm having a rough time finding all of this information in a concise form, even through the shared google drive link since some of it states I have no access. If someone could steer me in the correct direction, I'd much appreciate it!
Best!
