Default P.S. Fluid LEAK help!

Hello guys, I'm new here and desperately need help. I've been driving my uncle's 93 LS400 for about 6 months now. It had a slight fluid leak problem (refill about every 2 month) and he always topped it off with Lucas P.S. leak stop fluid (I'm guessing for more than a year? not sure).

Ok. The problem is I usually refill the reservoir when I start hearing the whining sound. BUT yesterday morning, without any noise warnings past couple weeks, I started my car to go to work but steering was "locked" (I did have similar experiences time to time where P.S. won't work right after starting up on cold mornings but instantly knew it was much heavier this time). I assumed/hoped it will start working again but didn't all the way to work so I checked the fluid, almost dry so I refilled it with the left over Lucas bottle. Turn the wheel left and right couple times seemed like it was working for a while and "locked" again.

I found a huge P.S. fluid explosion on front of the driver side (to the point where the fluid seeps out through the bumper) and drip marks on the front inner cover surface of the driver side wheel. I've tried refilling with dextron ATF, works for a bit and everything just leaks out in matter of seconds. BUT P.S. works with whining noise until all the fluid is gone. Please help me, please tell me the pump and rack are fine..

I am aware of P.S. pump frying up driving w/o any fluid, thankfully I have 4 min commute to work and home. hopefully the commute back this afternoon won't fry it up.

Thank you very much guys.

You might want to check the hoses, since you ran the car with low ps fluid . The fluid gets boiling hot and might caused one of the hose to burst ... Happen to my ls

Oo I really hope that is the case, thank you for the input. Man I'm so scared to drive it home after work today. I would fill it back up but everything leaks out in less than a min, not sure if its really worth it.

Does anyone happen to have a link to decent power steering tubing diagram? I've been searching google but was not able to locate "specific" diagram. I've currently removed the driverside wheel and covering to locate the leak better, but no progress yet.

Thanks! It was the vacuum valve on the driver side next to the fans.
