cheapest way for better sounding exhaust
#31
my ls has the rear mufflers deleted, kept the factory resonators under the rear seats.
Has a nice low burble to it at idle, can hear the v8 exhaust pulses, sounds great when your WOT merging onto the freeway, not too loud. But it does resonate around 2000 rpm and it is loud in the back seat area. I got a hot 5.0 foxbody with longtubes and flowmasters..the lexus drone is mild in comparison.

Not really sure what you mean by better, but here's my layout I have planned out. Ideally, it should sound like the video at the bottom of this post, though it's going on a 1999 model instead of a 90-94.
- 2.25" piping from the catalytic converters
- 2.5" x-pipe
- 2.5" piping from the x-pipe
- Twin 5Zigen Border GTs (basically a rarer version of the 5Zigen Fireball Mega mufflers in the video below)

Car sounds good, similar to a mustang with exhaust work. wonder how a small flow through resonator back there would sound. I love the V8 rumble but I dont want too loud just enough to make people wonder whats under the hood...
