The dealers have not had to deal with the ECU as much as we've discussed here. In many cases they would tend to encourage a newer car purchase. We've been blessed having Cowboy and Yamae dig into the issue so that we can keep ours roadworthy and not have them sent to junk yards. The parts guy I talked to had not heard of ECU issues when I was discussing the costs of a "new" ECU.

For reference sake please post your original ECU part# and the one received if different than the original unit. This thread lists ECU#'s:

Where is the immobilizer located under the dash?
