Wires, wires, and more wires: sharp eyes needed
Hello again fellow LS400 enthusiasts: I am wearing this board out lately, but the information you guys are giving me is really helping out big time. Here's my latest question, in light of trying to replace a few worn parts in and around the engine bay.
The spark plug wires and harness, if i can call it that, are very tattered, torn, and just look all dried out and brittle. The ignition coil and boot look OK, but the wires have seen better days. The previous owner obviously paid little attention to them.
I figure if I'm going to replace the wires, I want to replace as many as I can all in one fell swoop. To that end, I've taken a few pictures to document the ones that need replacing the most. Some are from the driver's side, some from the passenger's side.
I guess my question is this: if I proceed to buy all new replacement ignition coils, do I then also need to buy the corresponding connectors and wires? Any light you guys could shed on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone in advance who replies.

Buying new coils that are not needed are a waste of money. If its not broke why fix it? If your worried about the wiring then do the wire harness. If all the coils work why replace them? There are no spark plug wires its called "coil on plug" the end of the coil that connects to the spark plug is the spark plug wire.

Personally I wouldn't replace anything if you don't have a problem. Even if the insulator feel a bit dry it's still doing it's job.
If it's for the look, nothing beat wrapping wires. http://www.cabletiesandmore.ca/WrapAroundSleeving.php

Gentlemen, thank you for all the replies in regard to my question. In thinking it over,
you are right. I would rather use that money toward some other part that really needs
replacing, vs. just replacing them for cosmetic reasons.
Some new insulation fits the bill for me, so again, thanks for the timely tip.
