Change the filter with every oil change. I use a fram filter and Valvoline full synthetic 5w-30 every 5K miles.

I was wondering the same thing about oil change interval... Just purchased a used 2005 Flagship... Had a oil gasket leak... I can assume oil was added or changed then.

Mobile 1 Synthetic 5w30 every 4-5k or 4-5 months whichever comes first. Toyota OEM filter.

That's good to know about the filter. I figured a Toyota would most likely cost less, but have the same standards as a Lexus.

Located shop paperwork from the previous owner & she used 5W 30 Castrol.
Figured I should probably stay consistent, so I will call the shop & get other details from him.
Hopefully, he will allow me access to any previous invoices.

oil level is very good, i say i burned only about 1/4 to a 1/2 quart based on my dipstick. i fill to the max line everytime. never had to add any oil in between!

peace of mind is worth it to me. if i cannot change the oil at my interval, i will not worry going another month until i can. plus the interval is double of the regular stuff so for the price and less oil changes, i like the convenience.

1991 Lexus LS 328,000 miles use Mobile one 5-w30 change at 15,000 miles no oil burning change trans every 30,,, using Max Life synthetic also change the power steering same time no problems so far. Change the rear end oil 75-90 mobile one synthetic still going strong these cars are amazing and so well built.
