Fuel pump relay location 1994 LS400
I've searched all over the place. It seems no one knows where it is in the car.
Does anyone have a 94 shop manual that shows the location?
And why would they change the stupid simple stuff like relocate the relay?
Shorter wires maybe? It must be closer to the fuel pump????

Seems to indicate that it's on the passenger side of the engine bay.

The reason I ask is because I have seen posts that said an air pump was in that location, and they could not find the fuel pump relay. I don't know because all I am familiar with is the 90 to 92 models. I have also seen posts that say that the only 94 models that even have the relay are California cars. And a few other posts that say the relay is in the trunk. So yeah you folks that say its there, like me think its there. But I would really like someone with a 94 to show us if it is. I know there were a lot of changes made in the 93 to 94 models, the big one is the passenger side airbag, and the climate control, I'm sure there are many other changes not so apparent.

dicer: I have a 1994 LS400. also I have the service manual NO. RM357U1 Volume 1, the Fuel Pump ECU is in the right side of the trunk behind the cover, also you have to remove the box that holds the first aid kit. It is bolted to the fender. The page in manual is EG-412. The EFI relay in fuse box also is relay for fuel pump, #90987-02004-83, 12Volt 22 Amp, Denso $11.95 from dealer. Round metal can 4 prong. Good Luck

Where is Yamae when you need him? Every ECU in the car has resistors. The fuel pump resistor on the 90 to 92 is a big high wattage unit, and has a huge heat sink. It is used for normal driving and is by passed when more power is required. The resistor is a separate deal on these cars. So what you are saying is there is NO resistor but there is an ECU that likely does the controlling of the fuel pump speed some how.
ECU -------> Electronic Control Unit And there are many in these cars even the mirrors have one.

Probably pointless response sense this was a question from years ago...but
on a 1994, FPR only exist in CA emissions cars. I have that exact car. It is located in the engine bay, passenger side, next to ignitor. Pic below.
