The unwillingness to share what someone paid for a car on an internet forum doesn't make any sense to me. What is gained by not sharing? Whats protected by not sharing?

Does it really matter that much to you? I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the car yet, so if I do decide to sell it, I don't want what I paid for it floating all over the internet. It would make for a good bargaining tool for a savvy buyer.

Doesn't matter to me no. I don't see the difference between talking about "what a great deal you got on the car", and confirming that it was under $4,000, and actually disclosing the deal. If you don't want to talk about the deal, you shouldn't have even mentioned it.

Did your parents name you "Coolis" ? I really don't think anyone will know its that same person with the stinking price floating on the internet. And I'm just as sure the name on the registration is not "MR Coolis" absolutely no one knows who you are and will never know its the same car, even if something in the pics identifies the car, Coolis could have secretly sold it and a new person has it up for sale now. Even if you paid 100 bucks for it and are now selling it for 6000 maybe you put thousands into major work. It really is no big deal. In the old days my parents and that age group was always so secret about that sort of thing too.

Personally I share. It gives people a idea of what to expect when looking at similar models/condition. I can see where some people keep it quite. I've seen people post up on other forums about how much they paid for a car only to later down the line put it up for sale. Then that person gets bashed cause someone will dig up how much they paid for it. Personally it does not matter what a person paid for a car when they put it up for sale. But that is just me.
