Default LS 400 vs Deer

This happened a couple hours ago. Busted grill, headlight, slightly bent hood. I'll know more in the morning when I can see the damage better. Not sure how to embed but here's a link:

Wow, how fast were you going? I wonder if the deer walked off and died?

Wow, glad you okay bud.
Usually there is internal bleeding, the deer will collapse and die soon

I was probably going 40 mph before I hit the brakes. Hard to tell by the video but I hit the brakes at least a full second before impact. You can tell when I hit the brakes by the sound of the stuff sliding off my passengers seat.
I hit him pretty hard and he had a bad limp after. I doubt he'll make it. Bummer all around.

Glad you're alright. Cars can be fixed at the body shop but you can't.

Same exact thing happened on my G35. He ran away but with $8k in damage (even though I still drove home) I'm pretty sure he didn't make it. Glad you're OK and I hope the car is reasonably fixable.

That happened to me in my Ford Ranger a few years ago. Not another car on the highway and he zeroed in on my truck like a laser. Buckled the front bumper and fender and put holes in the radiator. #1 danger to your vehicle besides other drivers is deer. And speaking of other drivers, I got rear-ended in my Lexus last Thursday while stopped in heavy traffic. Second time in a year. 4th time it's happened to me in any car. Every time it was a woman who hit me. Is that sexist to point that out? It might be, but those are the facts. I'll never understand how anyone can just drive into a car waiting for a light or traffic. I really don't get it.

All this shows is how honestly ****-poor the headlights are on these LS400s..... If you have a 98-00 put in HIDs. If you have a 89-94 HIDs wont work and you will need those chinese Eagle Eye housings. If its a 95-97 I am not sure if those have the textured glass but if they do then again you need the chinese headlight assemblies.

The way you hit it and it stumbled around I'm sure it ran off and found a place to lay down and die. Headlights on these do suck and I am looking for a alternative because my son is going to be driving this 92. Hope it does not turn out too bad for you.

Python,

Do you have night pictures of the LED headlights in your car? I'm curious how the light output is and how the pattern compares to oem vs HID.
